  • What is Papyrus?
    Papyrus is the world’s first fully comprehensive and highly scalable decentralized ecosystem for digital advertising which radically improves the programmatic advertising stack to provide efficient, transparent and mutually beneficial environment for users, publishers, advertisers and decentralized application (dApp) developers using blockchain architecture.
  • Why do we need Papyrus?
    Papyrus leverages blockchain technologies to provide transparency for the advertising supply chain and create proper incentives for digital advertising market players. This will reduce fraud and costs on intermediaries and will lead to a much greater efficiency for advertisers and publishers. Moreover, with Papyrus, users will be able to control what ads they see and what data they share with advertisers. There will be no abusive ads and malvertisements. Most importantly, users will be instantly rewarded for sharing their data and responding to advertising.
  • What are the benefits for the participants?
    The Papyrus mission is to take the best from blockchain in order to transform the entire digital advertising market and provide different parties with substantial benefits:
    • To advertisers, we offer a brand new way of digital presence, that is they would receive more for each dollar spent on advertising (currently, they lose more than 50% of their ad spend);
    • To publishers, we offer instant access to the entirety of high-quality demand from the Papyrus ecosystem. Due to low-cost barriers for participation in the Papyrus ecosystem traditional players won’t have to choose between traditional and decentralized advertising ecosystems;
    • To end users, we offer a possibility to become rightful owners of their attention and data. With Papyrus, users will be able to control what ads they want to see, what data to share and how they would like to be compensated for their attention.
  • What is Papyrus organizational structure?
    Papyrus is incorporated in Singapore as Papyrus Foundation Pte. Ltd. The R&D office is located in Moscow, Russia and we plan to open business development offices in New York and London in the coming months. The mission of Papyrus is to build and boost the market’s adoption of a comprehensive decentralized ecosystem for the whole digital advertising market. This ecosystem has a form of blockchain-based global decentralized autonomous organization (DAO).
  • What is the difference between PPR and PRP?
    Papyrus will be introducing two different utility tokens: PRP or Papyrus Prototype Token that will be used in the ecosystem prototype; and PPR or Papyrus Permanent token that will be used in the permanent version of the ecosystem. For more details please read our blog.
  • Is there any limit for the emission of PPR tokens?
    Yes. The overall emission of PPR tokens will be limited to 1,000,000,000 (one billion) tokens with no allowance for additional token generation.
  • When does the pre-sale take place?
    The pre-sale starts on October 12, 2017, 2 p.m. UTC, and will end when either of the following happens:
    • The hard cap goal is reached.
    • The designed Round 1 public sale period of 21 days ends.
  • Is the number of PRP tokens fixed?
    Should the pre-sale hard cap be reached, the number of PRP tokens will be fixed. If the hard cap is not reached, an additional round for PRP tokens might be scheduled. When the hard cap is finally reached as a result of these rounds the amount of PRP tokens will be fixed and no additional token generation will be allowed.
  • What is the token sale cap limit?
    Round 1 which includes the sale of PRP has a hard cap of $5 000 000. The Papyrus Foundation Pte. Ltd reserves the right to set a lower hard cap should it deem this reasonable.
  • What currencies do you accept?
    We accept BTC and ETH.
  • Who is the team?
    We are a team of experts with strong backgrounds in building and scaling successful businesses in both advertising and blockchain technologies. The core product development team consists of 12 people. The team is constantly growing. You can learn more about each team member here.
  • How does Papyrus differ from other emerging blockchain-based ad solutions?
    Unlike other blockchain advertising projects that are focused on particular components of the digital advertising market like exchanges, marketplaces or browsers, Papyrus is an open ecosystem for all components, platforms and market players. Other projects can be integrated with Papyrus for mutual benefit.
  • What exactly does Papyrus disrupt?
    Papyrus aims to develop a decentralized and highly scalable advertising ecosystem capable of processing hundreds of billions of targeted advertisements on a daily basis. The system will unite advertisers, publishers, end users and developers of decentralized applications (dApps) in a new digital economy with a build-in reputation management system that incentivizes all parties to behave in a transparent and mutually beneficial way. All in all, Papyrus presents an unprecedented level of transparency and fraud prevention.
  • What is the Papyrus token?
    Like all the other blockchain-based environments, the Papyrus ecosystem will operate using utility tokens. Advertisers, publishers, dApp developers, and end users will use Papyrus ERC20-compliant Ethereum tokens as utility tokens for:
    • Paying for ad campaigns;
    • Service fees for participants, including compensations for end users;
    • Proof-of-Stake deposits of registered ecosystem participants;
    • Ecosystem governance.
  • So, will Papyrus push the existing digital advertising players out of the market?
    Not exactly. Papyrus does not directly threaten the players of the established digital advertising market. Instead, publishers, supply side platforms (SSP), demand side platforms (DSP), ad networks, antifraud vendors and ad agencies can easily integrate with Papyrus through APIs and open source libraries at a very low cost and immediately leverage benefits for their profit in addition to maintaining their traditional ad market approach. The ultimate goal of Papyrus is to offer advantages to the efficient and value-adding players and to marginalize the unscrupulous ones.
  • Why do you need multiple token sale rounds?
    We’ve decided to use a milestone-based approach to provide clear goals for each token sale stage to our token buyers. As a result of Stage 1, we are planning to bootstrap the Papyrus prototype ecosystem and start pilot integrations with partners, including SSPs, DSPs, antifraud vendors, as well as to attract supporters and lay the foundation of a Papyrus expert community. Stage 2 starts after the deployment of the permanent version of the ecosystem’s smart contracts and the successful implementation of pilot integrations with external advertising platforms. Stage 3 is planned for 2019 and will not start until after Papyrus has achieved significant market traction, grown its user base and ad traffic volume.
  • Will there be an initial PPR token sale?
    Yes. Papyrus has decided to use a milestone-based approach and scheduled several TGE rounds to provide a deterministic value for the tokens sold:
    • TGE Round 1 will start on October 12, 2017 after the deployment of the initial scope of the Papyrus ecosystem prototype in Ethereum network.
    • TGE Round 2 will start after Papyrus has deployed the permanent version of the ecosystem’s smart contracts and has successfully launched pilot integrations with target external advertising platforms and partners providing benefits in real-use cases. We expect this to take place within the next few months.
    • The tokens allocated for TGE Round 3 will be locked until 2019. TGE Round 3 is planned for 2019 and will not start until after Papyrus has achieved significant market traction, grown its user base and ad traffic volume within the ecosystem.
  • What is the PRP/PPR exchange policy?
    15% of the PPR token supply will be distributed among the PRP token holders in exchange for their PRP tokens and proportionally to their PRP holdings at the end of Round 2.
  • Who can participate?
    Anybody can participate in the public token sale provided that stated legal compliance criteria are met. Terms and conditions will be published up front. As for the private pre-sale, there will be a minimum deposit requirement as well as a KYC procedure.
  • What are the pre-sale terms and conditions?

  • Will the tokens be listed on any exchange?
    Yes, currently we are in a process of negotiating this issue with several exchanges. Our tokens will become transferrable and will be listed on exchanges after the end of Token Generation Event Round 1.
  • What is the jurisdiction of transactions within Papyrus?
    Papyrus Foundation Pte. Ltd (official company) is based in Singapore. We closely follow the international and local legislative regulations and we aim to conduct the сrowdsale on our platform strictly through legal procedures.
  • Are PRP and PPR considered securities?
    According to the legal advice and opinions we’ve gathered during the preparation process, PRP and PPR tokens would not be considered securities by SEC under the famous Howey test. Our legal advisors have reviewed and issued a legal opinion on our token structure; any token sales to U.S. investors shall be made with care to fully comply with current U.S. Securities law.
